CCIL Announces New Executive Director

TORONTO (September 20, 2017) – The Board of Directors of the Canadian Council of Independent Laboratories (CCIL) is pleased to announce that Alnoor (Al) Nathoo has been appointed Executive Director of the organization, replacing Derwyn Reuber who has retired from the position.

Alnoor (Al) Nathoo
Mr. Nathoo, P. Eng., is a materials engineering consultant with approximately 40 years of professional experience specializing in the evaluation of asphaltic concrete, Portland cement concrete and other construction materials. He recently retired from Peto MacCallum Ltd. after 36 years of continuous service, including four years as President of the firm.
Mr. Nathoo has been an active participant in CCIL and previously the Canadian Testing Association (CTA). He served on the Board of CCIL for approximately 20 years, including two years as President. He also served as Vice President and SecretaryTreasurer of CCIL, Chair of the CCIL / Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) Liaison Committee, and Chair of the CTA Asphalt Certification Program Administration Committee. Mr. Nathoo was also very actively involved on behalf of Consulting Engineers of Ontario (CEO) and CCIL in the MTO re-engineering and outsourcing review process.

Derwyn Reuber
Derwyn Reuber, BASc, served as Executive Director of CCIL from 2012 until recently. Previously he served on CCIL’s Board of Directors and on CCIL’s Ethics Committee. As a former Vice-President of Intertek Testing Services and its Canadian predecessor, Warnock Hersey, Mr. Reuber was actively involved for over 40 years in geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, consumer product testing and certification, and risk management.
