CCIL President Doug Otto presents the 2024 CCIL Leadership Award to Brandi Graham of Terracon Geotechnique Ltd.

This year, at CCIL’s Members Luncheon held in Calgary on July 22, 2024, we were honoured to present a CCIL leadership award to Brandi Graham of Terracon Geotechnique located in Fort McMurray, Alberta. In her recent role with Terracon Geotechnique Ltd., Brandi has been integrally involved in the Oil Sands industry. Brandi’s involvement in multiple Reclamation Engagement Focus Groups underscores her dedication to environmental stewardship.
But just as important, Brandi is being recognized for her commitment to the Métis Community and the preservation of the Métis culture through her involvement on numerous committees focused on land use, climate change, the oil and gas industry, and the harvesting and planning of native species.
Brandi played a vital role in the McMurray Métis engagementsessions with the Federal Government, consulting and negotiating on the release of mine water back into local water systems. As a participant in the Crown Indigenous Working Group formed by Environment and Climate Change Canada, Brandi has been instrumental in advocating for the recognition of the significant environmental and community impacts of such activities. Brandi also embodies community values through her active participation in events such as Métis Fest, Beading Circles, and Elders Teas.
In summary, Brandi Graham has been presented with this award in recognition of her leadership, dedication and contributions to both her professional career and her cultural community. Brandi exemplifies the qualities of a leader who drives positive change and serves as a role model for others.
