CCIL Welcomes New President and Board Members

The Canadian Council of Independent Laboratories (CCIL) announces the appointment of a new President as well as two new members to the Board of Directors.

Trevor Gluck has been elected President, and Geoffrey Uwimana and Cengiz Guldemet have been named to the Board. With these new additions to the senior leadership team, CCIL is well positioned to represent its members’ interests and advance the goals of the independent, private-sector laboratory testing industry in Canada.

Trevor Gluck, P. Eng.
Trevor has over 25 years’ experience in the industry, the last 14 years with Woods PLC where he is now Operations Manager – Manitoba/Saskatchewan Geotechnical & Materials. His experience includes pavement and concrete design, aggregate testing, road and bridge concrete/asphalt pavement assessments, slope stability, settlement analysis, construction inspection and monitoring of foundations and earthworks as well
as construction management in Alberta, Northwestern Ontario and Manitoba.

Trevor served as CCIL’s Vice President and has been on the Board since 2017. He succeeds Tony Araujo as President. Tony will continue to serve on the Board and will remain Chairman of the Conformity Assessment Division.

Geoffrey Uwimana, M. Eng., P. Eng.
Geoffrey is a senior civil engineer with 27 years of experience specializing in the fields of geotechnical and materials engineering. He is Vice President at Peto MacCallum Ltd. and the Discipline Head for Geotechnical Engineering and Laboratory Testing Services.

He joins the Board as Chairman of the Geotechnical/Construction Materials Division.

Cengiz Guldemet, P. Eng.
Cengiz is a Senior Materials Engineer and Branch Manager at Metro Testing + Engineering. With over 29 years of experience in the materials consulting, construction testing and concrete ready-mix industry, Cengiz has developed skills as both a senior technician and as a materials engineer. He joins the Board as Director of the
Geotechnical/Construction Materials Division.
